CORE 40 ACADEMIC HONORS DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the Core 40 with Academic Honors Diploma students must:

1.Satisfy All Requirements For the Core 40 Diploma Below:

English: Must include a senior composition course

Mathematics: Must include Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II. 6 math credits must be earned between grades 9-12. 2 Mathematics OR Quantitative Reasoning* credits are required during the junior or senior year.

Social Studies: Must include World History or Geography & the History of the World; U.S. History, Government and Economics.

Science: Must include 2 credits in Biology, 2 credits of Chemistry, Physics, or Integrated Chemistry and Physics, and 2 additional science credits.

2.Plus These Additional Requirements: 

Complete an additional year of math beyond Algebra II (8 Mathematics Credits Total)
Complete 2 Fine Arts credits (either visual or performing arts)
Earn 6-8 World Language credits (6 credits in one language or 4 credits each in two languages)
Earn a cumulative 3.0 or higher grade point average
Earn a grade of “C-” or above in courses that will count toward the diploma
Earn a minimum of 48 credits in courses on the transcript
Meet criteria for a graduation pathway

And complete ONE of the following:

  • Earn 4 credits in 2 or more AP courses and take corresponding AP exams
  • Earn 4 credits in IB courses and take corresponding IB exams
  • Earn 6 verifiable, transcripted college credits in dual credit courses from the dual credit approved list 

Earn 2 of the following:

  • Minimum of 3 verifiable, transcripted college credits from the approved dual credit list
  • 2 credits in AP courses and corresponding AP exams
  • 2 credits in IB standard level courses and corresponding IB exams
Earn a combined score of 1250 or higher on SAT and a minimum of 560 on Math and 590 on EB Reading and Writing
Earn an ACT composite score of 26 or higher and complete writing section.
