Preparing for Careers and the Workforce

The Employment Honors Plus Seal is designed for students who are interested in turning their passions and interests into future careers while pursuing advanced career preparation opportunities. Through expanded work-based learning experiences, advanced industry credentials, and professional skill development, students build the knowledge, experience, and workplace habits needed to excel in today's workforce and beyond.

  • To earn the Enrollment Honors Plus Seal:

    Students First Must Earn The Enrollment Honors Seal Requirements:

    Career Readiness Requirements
    • Complete at least 2 Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses in a selected career pathway
    • Complete at least 75 hours of work based learning experiences
    • Earn a grade of C or higher in all courses
    • Maintain a cumulative B average
    Demonstrate Professional Skills
    • Students must demonstrate growth in:
      • Communication
      • Collaboration
      • Work Ethic
    Demonstrate Career Readiness
    • Earn an approved Industry Certification aligned to a career pathway 

    OR

    • Earn at least 6 transcripted college credits in a career pathway through Dual Credit coursework

     

    Students Then Must Earn Additional Honors Plus Requirements:

    Advanced Career Credentials
    • Examples may include:
      • Advanced Industry Certifications
      • Technical Certificates
      • Apprenticeships
      • Additional Career Pathway Credentials
    Expanded Work Based Learning
    • Complete additional work based learning experiences beyond the Employment Honors Seal requirements

    Note: These experiences may be paid, unpaid, on site, simulated, internship based, or career connected

    Demonstrate Advanced Professional Skills
    • Students must continue to build and demonstrate growth in:
      • Communication
      • Collaboration
      • Work Ethic
  • In addition to the academic requirements above, students must complete ONE of the following:

    Option 1
    Option 2
    Earn an approved Industry Certification aligned to a career pathway Earn at least 6 transcripted college credits in a career pathway through Dual Credit coursework
  • Students pursuing the Employment Honors Plus Seal should generally plan to complete the following coursework:

    A checklist titled 'EMPLOYMENT HONORS PLUS SEAL CHECKLIST' outlines graduation requirements.

  • The Employment Honors Plus Seal is designed for students who want to maximize their career preparation while still in high school. Through advanced credentials, expanded work-based learning experiences, and professional skill development, students gain the experience and qualifications needed to stand out in today's workforce.

    Students earning this seal graduate with advanced career-ready skills, meaningful workplace experience, and a strong foundation for success after high school.
